According to a recent study climate changes affect health including air and rise in temperature. Scientists believe that rising temperatures risk health in many ways such as cardiovascular diseases and heart stroke. While on the other hand smoke from automobiles affects human health and many people die due to lung diseases.
Heat stroke in Pakistan:
Heat stroke cases in Pakistan increase in summers with few areas temperature exceeding 40 degrees. In Punjab cities like Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala and more have high temperatures due to summers and in which many people die due to heat stroke. Karachi is also a hot city of Pakistan in summers where there are hardly a few drops of rain. Sibbi, Hyderabad and other cities of sindh also have high temperatures.
According to last year’s reports , almost 1400 people reached the hospital due to heat stroke and high temperature. A few of them die due to heat stroke and excessive exposure to high temperatures. Many people die due to excessive temperature exposure and record deaths in Karachi. Almost 75 people died in Karachi due to excessive increase in temperature.
Government initiatives due to high temperature:
The Government of Pakistan launched many programs for high temperatures including a deforestation rule in which excessive deforestation is not allowed in the province. On the other hand, the government of Pakistan is planning to install coolers in public areas for people.
How to prevent heat stroke:
● Always wear sunscreen before going out as it can protect your screen from harmful UV rays
● Always use an umbrella and bring your cold water bottle before going out.
● Plan your summer vacation accordingly and avoid visiting high temperature areas.
● You can also check the weather forecast report before traveling.
● If you or anyone nearby gets heat stroke, avoid drinking cold water as it can damage your brain’s normal functioning.
These are some measures you can adopt to prevent heat stroke and its harmful effects.
Global warming:
Global warming is rising temperature due to many reasons, one of the main is the melting of glaciers as melting of glaciers results in warming of temperature. Deforestation is another main reason of global warming where cutting of trees results in warming of the temperature. Melting of glaciers is increasing significantly in which analysts predict by 2027 almost 35% of the glaciers will melt. WHO emphasized on preventing measures to ensure the protection of glaciers and also to lower global warming.
Climate change and health diseases:
According to many health reports climate changes result in many diseases like malaria and dengue virus. Many people die in Pakistan due to the Dengue virus most commonly in the months of August and September. Mental health diseases like depression and anxiety also rise due to high temperature. Global warming plays a key role in mood changing and more.
Air pollution effects on health:
Air pollution also affects human health including smoke from automobiles and from factories. When the smoke rises in the air it results in many respiratory diseases including most commonly lung diseases. It can also result in asthma and difficulty while breathing and other symptoms. Chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases are most commonly due to smoke from automobiles. The smoke can result in death in a worse scenario.
Population get effect mostly:
According to leading data and reports young TEEN-AGERS below the age of 20 and old people get affected mostly from the air pollution. Due to weak immune systems, old people get mostly affected by diseases like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and other lung diseases. Old people mostly suffer from heat stroke compared to the younger generation.
Government initiative to prevent air pollution:
The Government of Pakistan launched the E buses program to prevent excessive air pollution from automobiles. The e buses work on electric where its service is readily available in major cities of Punjab including Rawalpindi, Multan, Lahore and more. Pakistan is a country that got affected most from air pollution and the country launched many initiatives for its prevention.
Recent study :
According to the Lancet neurology general people get affected most from Alzheimer’s and neuron disease due to exposure to high temperature. According to the world health organisation almost 25 thousand people die annually from stress conditions most commonly due to increase in temperature.
Conclusion:
According to analysts, global warming will increase further in upcoming years. Always check the weather forecast report before travelling. On the other hand, always keep a first aid box in your bag or in case of any emergency.
