Punjabi actor and Bollywood singer dilijit donsanjh faced backlash from india media, artists and common people on working on a movie with Pakistani artist known as “hania amir”. A Punjabi movie sardar ji 3 is featuring a Pakistani artist with 16.8 million views on social media. Film makers claimed the movie was produced before the Pakistan India controversy over the pehalgham attack.
Pehalgham attack , termination of Pakistani artists in Bollywood:
In April 2025 Indian occupied Kashmir state pehalgham was under extreme terrorism in which 26 people were brutally killed. India without any investigation blamed Pakistan and started accusing on international forms. Even the Prime Minister of Pakistan offered the Indian prime minister for investigation but he neglected.
In May 2025 India attacked major cities of Pakistan and named this operation “Sindoor”. Indian media faced backlash from everywhere due to baseless reporting and false assumptions. The Pakistani army claimed they shot down Rafale jets of India. After involvement from America both states agreed on a ceasefire and ended the blame game.
Indian government response and initiatives:
The Indian government broke the Indus water treaty which was a cruel initiative just to take revenge for the attack which the Pakistani government clearly mentioned they had nothing to do. The Indian government banned content creators of Pakistan including artists and drama industry channels. Indian film producers on the other site made clear they won’t cast any Pakistani artist in Indian movies anymore. Indian artists accused Pakistan on their social media accounts and many of them unfollowed Pakistani artists.

Hania Amir showed deep condolences on the pehalgham attack and emphasised war is never the solution for any problem. While on the other site when India attacked Pakistan ( Pakistani artist) supported her country and criticised India. Hania Amir faced backlash from India and they started criticising her on a popular social media platform known as Instagram.
Indian analysts response:
Indian analysts accentuated Pakistani artist will not be a part of the Punjabi movie “Sardar ji 3”. For almost two months Indian people, artists and media believed Pakistani artists won’t be a part of the film. The trailer of the movie shocked India more than Pakistan where Pakistani artist hania amir was the part of movie and she was not replaced in the movie. Many influencers called this a successful strategy of movie makers.
Criticism on the film:
The movie faced extreme backlash from Indian artists, producers and common people. Famous singer Guru Randhawa criticised diljit dosanjh on twitter and called the pr of the Punjabi movie fake.

The actress even unfollowed the fellow Pakistani artist on Instagram who is featured in the recent Punjabi movie.

Netizens criticised diljit dosanjh on featuring Pakistani artist hania amir. People commented that country comes first before any singer. Others wrote “Gaddar” in the comments and criticised Pakistani artists for not working in her own homeland. Many people started an online hashtag of “boycott sardar ji 3”. Netizens showed anger and hatred towards Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh and wrote respect the fans and the country in the comments.

Diljit Dosanjh made a bold statement and accentuated if India doesn’t want to cast me, I am either not interested in working with them. Diljit Dosanjh stresses that the movie was casted before the conflict and even so this has nothing to do with the art of the artist.
