Increase heat strokes in patient signs and symptoms

Heat stroke patients are increasing day by day in Pakistan due to extreme summer weather conditions in the country. June and July are the hottest months of the country. Even August is considered as the hottest month of some cities in Pakistan. Extreme weather conditions are due to global warming and also deforestation and melting of glaciers. Temperature of different cities:

Highest temperature cities:

The temperature of larkana is 47 Celsius while the temperature of sukkar was recorded 46 Celsius. The temperature in Hyderabad is 41 Celsius. Multan’s temperature is recorded 37 Celsius while the temperature of Lahore is near 40 Celsius. The temperature of Islamabad is near 35 Celsius. Mansehra and Muzaffarabad are coldest places with temperature 18.9 Celsius.

Heat stroke in Pakistan:

In peak summers the temperature of cities like Lahore and Karachi reach 45C which is extremely hot. Humidity increases in these months which makes the air more hotter. Many work places in Pakistan don’t even contain adequate machines including air conditioners to cope with heat that is a cause of heat stroke.

In rural areas the health care system is not developed. That’s why it takes a lot of time to reach the hospital and many times patients die from heatstroke because they don’t reach the hospital in time. There is no specific arrangement of water coolers in public places. The government should arrange water coolers in public places to cope with heat stroke.

Many times people aren’t aware about heat stroke and this is a reason for the increase in death rate due to heat stroke.

Always use an umbrella while going out in these summer conditions. Always bring a cold water bottle outside and try to drink it more often. Don’t eat fast food more often in summers as it can increase acidity and stomach burn.

Death rate in Pakistan due to heat stroke:

Almost 3.7% people die from heat stroke annually and a large amount consists of people who work outside in hot temperatures including farmers, police officers and drivers including public transport passengers. In Karachi a young boy aged 15 was found dead due to extreme hot weather. He was declared dead by Dr Ruth pfau hospital Karachi.

According to karachi police the boy died due to heat stroke. The temperature of many cities according to weather reports is expected to exceed 40 Celsius. In 2024 only in Karachi 440 people died from heat stroke. In the month of may almost 80 people were admitted in nearby hospitals and according to professionals all are patients of heat stroke. 15 people have died in Karachi in recent months due to heat stroke.

Summary:

The months of June and July are considered among the hottest months and in some areas temperature exceeds 45 Celsius which can result in heat stroke.

Heat stroke is increasing in Pakistan with almost more than 500 people dying annually. Always read precautionary measures before going out as it can save you from heat stroke.
