are specifying Karachi ( city of Pakistan) experiencing 10 earthquakes within two days. A recent earthquake was felt on Monday. According to news reports the magnitude was 3.4 and the source is located near landhi (4.7 km).
According to Meteorologist reports, the source of the earthquake was an active line near the Landhi area. Areas like port qasim , Landhi, malir cant, sherapo colony , gulistan e johar , Ayesha manzil and adjacent areas residents felt the earthquake.
Earlier on Sunday an earthquake was felt and according to resources the scale of the earthquake was 3.5 where the source was near Gadap town. On Monday morning another earthquake was felt in Karachi, Pakistan with a magnitude of 3.2 .
Ameer Haider laghari chief meteorologist department specified the earthquake is due to an active line and epicenter in Landhi near area. The department predicted that the earthquake would continue for two days but with very low intensity.
Seismic Zone:
Pakistan is surrounded by three major seas including Arabian sea , Euro-Asian sea and Indian sea. Pakistan experienced a major earthquake in 2005 where more than 60 thousand people died and almost 2 million people got affected due to those earthquakes. Conditions of hunger , poverty, unemployment, infrastructure damage and panic rise after the earthquake.
The 1945 Balochistan earthquake was also one of the major earthquakes in the history of Pakistan.
Karachi earthquake:
The most recent earthquake was felt late Monday night , almost of magnitude 3.0 on scale and the epicentre of the earthquake was near the area of DHA according to sources. Steel town,Qaidabad area where residents felt the earthquake. 7 earthquakes are felt within 27 hours and according to reports there are predictions of more earthquakes but the magnitude will be significantly low so it’s possible many people don’t feel the earthquake.
High alert:
The government of Karachi specified there is nothing like a situation of danger in the city. Rescue teams are on high alert and the meteorologist department is working and the situation is in control. Experts predict that due to climate changes and underground pressure Karachi is experiencing earthquakes of minor magnitude.
Death and infrastructure damage:
Fake news circulated on social media about deaths but according to the city government no casualty has been reported also fortunately there is no report of any building collapsing or infrastructure damage. The meteorologist department requested people of Karachi to stay alert and also to avoid staying in a building that is not safe or might collapse.
Till now Karachi experienced 12 earthquakes according to reports and data where people got frightened and came out of their homes and many people witnessed cracks in buildings which is increasing danger as earlier Ameer Haider laghari requested people to avoid staying in buildings that have cracks.
