Details: An event was held by President of Pakistan Asif Zardari for Pakistan and Bangladesh cricket teams as they both are playing cricket series. Pakistan and Bangladesh are playing a T20 series in Lahore where Pakistan won their first T20 series match. A dinner was held by Asif Zardari where he called for better relations between the two countries.
Asif Zardari said: “ I was among the people who witnessed the separation of Bangladesh from Pakistan”
It’s high time to heal past wounds and move forward for a better future. Asif Zardari said:
●Both countries should work together for their economies and country’s growth
● He said both countries should invest in projects and also in mutual cooperation.
●Sports can play a vital role in bringing both countries together.
Asif Zardari added Pakistan is blessed with natural beauty and both countries can invest in fields of tourism for their growth and to prevent poverty. He said Bangladesh is now a developed country and almost the whole world accepted their development.
Event Details and host:
The event was hosted by chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi and both countries’ players and officials attended the dinner. Asif Zardari congratulated Pakistan on their victory and also encouraged them on their recent performances in the series. Asif Zardari also thanked players of Bangladesh for visiting Pakistan and he said these players are representing their country and are ambassadors of their nation.
He said sports can increase bilateral ties between both Countries and through sports both countries can be together.
T20 series: Pakistan beat Bangladesh in the first match of the T20 series by 57 runs. Pakistan scored 201 runs in 20 overs and Bangladesh scored 164 runs on the loss of all wickets. The T20 series is being played in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

Asif Zardari speech:
The President of Pakistan was the main guest who shared memories of both countries. He said the government of Pakistan wants to work with the Bangladesh government and our locals also want to work there.
He said that I am still in contact with my college friends from Bangladesh and it’s been a long time till I visit Bangladesh. He said both countries have a rich history and it’s high time to forget all past bad history for a better future.
He said the younger generation don’t know the pain of separation as the older generation went through when we wanted to stay with our friends but we couldn’t. He hopes both teams will again host such events which will bring them together. He said we want to work with government of Bangladesh in many fields such as tourism, sports and mutual cooperation to bring both countries more close with each other.
